The H-2B classification is for foreign nationals coming to the United States to perform temporary services or labor for which there is not a sufficient pool of qualified United States workers. The employer’s need must be temporary (generally one year or less), recurring, and is traditionally tied to a season of the year. H-2B workers, by law, are only permitted to work for the certified employer who petitioned for their services. They are not permitted to work for any other employer during their stay in the United States.

Applications are accepted at anytime of the year, but the process of matching with an employer under the H-2B visa program takes approximately 4-5 months from your initial application to your arrival in the U.S.
